Bone Soup Recipe (Sup Tulang)

Ingredients (for the soup):

600g beef ribs

Water, to tender the ribs

3 pcs cloves

1 coriander seed

1 cinnamon

3 cardamoms

2 cm ginger

4 cloves garlic

1 onion

1 packet of mixed spices

A bit of salt

Ingredients (for garnishing): 

2 limes – sliced, seeds removed

50g chinese celery

3 bird eye chillies

A bit of fried shallot

 

Method:

  1. Firstly, slice the ginger thinly, cut onion into 4 and thinly slice the garlic.
  2. Next, add the ribs into the pot, followed with ginger slices, garlic, onion, all the spices and also a bit of salt.
  3. After that broil the soup on low heat. This process will take about 1 hour to 1 hour and a half. This is to ensure the ribs become really tender.
  4. When it’s cooked, garnish with chilli slices, lime juice and fried shallot.
