BLUE ONDEH-ONDEH WITH CHOCOLATE & GULA MELAKA
Ingredients:
200gm glutinous rice flour
200ml butterfly pea extract
200gm fresh grated young coconut
0.5 tbsp Salt
100gm Dark chocolate
100gm Gula Melaka
Methods:
-
In a mixing bowl, mixed the glutinous rice flour and butterfly pea extract ( the dough should be blue in colour)
-
Knead until it forms dough and not sticking in the mixing bowl.
-
Next, in a pot, add in some water, bring to a boil and simmer. ( it should be blubbing slowly)
-
To prepare the ondeh-ondeh, pinch a bit of the dough/ paste and put on your palm
-
Press it using your finger, and make it flat a bit, and add in the chocolate nib and gula Melaka in the centre, and wrapped it carefully, and make a little ball
-
Be sure that the filling stays in the center of the ball, when shaping the ball. If not traces of the fill will come out when you boil it
-
Next, you drop the ball in the simmering water. It is cooked, when the ball floats on the surface of the water.
-
Using a slotted spoon, remove the ball from the water, rinsed well, before coating it with the fresh grated coconut.
-
Ready to be served.
